Father Daughter Dance
February 13, 14, 15, 20 & 21

Times: Fri & Sat: 6–9 p.m., Sun: 5–8 p.m.
Lariccia Family Community Center, Boardman Park
Daughters ages 5–13 are invited to attend with a father, stepfather, grandfather, uncle, or any special father figure. Enjoy a catered dinner, DJ-led dancing, a professional keepsake photo, crafts, and surprises throughout the night. Semi-formal attire encouraged.

This session will focus on common mental health topics, providing helpful insights and practical information in a relaxed, welcoming setting. While the program is free, space is limited.

Boardman Rotary Pancakes in the Park

The Boardman Rotary will be hosting their annual Pancake Breakfast. The cost is $7 per breakfast and children ages 10 and under eat for free! There will be basket raffles, a hot chocolate bar, wagon rides and wood carvers.

Join us for Tai Ji Quan, a gentle movement class open to participants of all ages, with a special encouragement for older adults looking to improve balance, flexibility, and overall mobility. Classes are held every Monday and Thurdays and focus on slow, controlled movements that support strength, coordination, and confidence.

This low-impact class is ideal for those with mild mobility challenges or anyone seeking a safe, supportive way to stay active. Tai Ji Quan is sponsored by Direction Home, an organization dedicated to promoting health, wellness, and independent living for older adults and people with disabilities.

No prior experience is required. All are welcome in this inclusive and supportive environment.

Rain, Runoff, and Responsibility: Managing Stormwater in Your Own Backyard
Wednesday, April 15, 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Join us at Boardman Park for an informative, hands-on workshop focused on smart water use at home. This presentation highlights simple and effective ways residents can conserve water, utilize rainwater for projects such as gardening, and help prevent backyard water retention issues.


Learn how rain barrels and rain gardens capture and reuse rainwater, keeping it out of storm sewers while protecting our local waterways. Participants will discover the practical benefits of these solutions, basic setup tips, and how small changes at home can make a big environmental impact. Register here.

Paw-Lapalooza
Saturday, April 25, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Boardman Park is excited to announce Paw-Lapalooza, a new, dog-friendly community event in partnership with Animal Charity and the Junior League of Youngstown! This fun-filled day will celebrate our four-legged friends while bringing the community together for activities, education, and opportunities to support local animal welfare efforts.

Get ready for an afternoon filled with tail-wagging fun, contests, and prizes for dogs of all shapes and sizes.  Whether your pup is small or large, they’ll have the chance to compete in a variety of entertaining categories and enjoy a doggy swag bag full of goodies (while supplies last).

Registration is only $10 per pet and covers entry into all categories. More details on registering, activities, and event highlights will be announced soon.

Capes & Crowns is a magical and action-packed time at Boardman Park designed for moms and mother figures to enjoy a special night out with their children — sons and daughters alike. This family-friendly event celebrates imagination, confidence, and togetherness in a fun, welcoming environment.

Attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite superheroes or royalty, because every child deserves to feel powerful, brave, and celebrated. The night will feature music, dancing, themed activities, crafts, games, and photo-worthy moments that create lasting memories for families of all kinds.

Baby Bargain Boutique
Saturday, May 16, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Masters Pavilion, Boardman Park

Boardman Township Park invites families to the annual Baby Bargain Boutique, a one-stop shopping event for gently used baby and children’s items. Held at and around the Master’s Outdoor Pavilion, this popular sale features more than 100 local vendors offering clothing (sizes newborn through 14), toys, books, equipment, and more.

Admission is free with the donation of a non-perishable food item to benefit a local food bank. Vendor spaces are limited and typically sell out quickly, making this a highly anticipated community event for parents and caregivers alike.

Pre-Schoolers in the Park
Wednesday, May 19, 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Tots Town Playground, Boardman Park

Join us for a morning of learning, movement, and outdoor fun at Preschoolers in the Park! In partnership with the Public Library, this special program invites preschool-aged children and their caregivers to enjoy the park through stories, songs, and nature exploration.

Little ones will delight in interactive song time and engaging story readings led by library staff, followed by a gentle, guided nature hike through the park. This experience encourages early literacy, curiosity, and a love for the outdoors in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

Perfect for preschoolers and their families, Preschoolers in the Park is a wonderful way to connect, learn, and play together in nature.

Memorial Day Celebration

Monday, May 25, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Boardman Park

The Memorial Day Parade hosted by Boardman Kiwanis Club at Boardman Center Intermediate School on Market Street and  proceeded north to US Route 224, then head east to Boardman Township Park. Cheering crowds lined the route. This annual event is organized by our Kiwanis Club.

Following the parade, the Memorial Day Service will be held at the Maag Outdoor Theatre. We invite all veterans and community members to join us as we recognize, remember and express our thankfulness for the sacrifices of our military forces to preserve our way of life.
