Mommy and Me for Tea
Saturday, May 2,
11 a.m. 3 p.m.
Lariccia Family Community Center

Join us for a free flowing afternoon tea featuring finger foods, cookies, and fun interactive activities. Enjoy making crafts together, capture memories with a professional photo, and take plenty of candid shots throughout the event — including our new 360° Photo Booth experience!

Attendees can visit various stations at their own pace, without being held to a schedule.  We will not be having the formal runway show as in years past.  Participants will have an opportunity to walk together down the runway to the 360° photo shoot, all while having someone announce information about each participant.

This semi-formal event is designed for children ages 3–9 and their mom, grandma, or any special adult.

Tickets go on sale April 2nd.

  • Boardman Residents: $18 per adult / $15 per child
  • Non‑Residents: $20 per adult / $15 per child

Direction Home, part of Ohio’s statewide network of Area Agencies on Aging, brings expertise in community-based health, wellness, and disease prevention services that support independent living for older adults and individuals with disabilities.

Tai Ji Quan
Mondays & Thursdays, 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.

Join us for Tai Ji Quan, a gentle movement class open to participants of all ages, with a special encouragement for older adults looking to improve balance, flexibility, and overall mobility. Classes are held every Monday and Thursdays and focus on slow, controlled movements that support strength, coordination, and confidence.

This low-impact class is ideal for those with mild mobility challenges or anyone seeking a safe, supportive way to stay active. Tai Ji Quan is sponsored by Direction Home, an organization dedicated to promoting health, wellness, and independent living for older adults and people with disabilities.

No prior experience is required. All are welcome in this inclusive and supportive environment.

Boardman Park’s Lunch & Learn series is a free educational program designed for older adults looking to stay informed, engaged, and connected. Each session features guest speakers from trusted local organizations who share valuable information on topics important to seniors, including mental health, insurance, wellness, and other resources that support healthy, independent living.

This session will focus on common mental health topics, providing helpful insights and practical information in a relaxed, welcoming setting. While the program is free, space is limited.

Grief Support Group

Join us for a compassionate, judgment-free space where all forms of grief are welcome—whether you’re navigating loss, change, or simply need a place to talk. This free community support group offers understanding, connection, and the opportunity to share how you’re feeling in a safe and supportive environment.

 

In partnership with Harmony Hospice Care, Boardman Park is happy to have Community Liaison Sara Stevens and Bereavement Coordinator, Missy LaRock to host this free group once a month for our community.

 

You don’t have to grieve alone—come as you are, listen, share, and find support.

Baby Bargain Boutique
Saturday, May 16, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Masters Pavilion

Boardman Township Park invites families to the annual Baby Bargain Boutique, a one-stop shopping event for gently used baby and children’s items. Held at and around the Master’s Outdoor Pavilion, this popular sale features more than 100 local vendors offering clothing (sizes newborn through 14), toys, books, equipment, and more.

Admission is free with the donation of a non-perishable food item to benefit a local food bank. Vendor spaces are limited and typically sell out quickly, making this a highly anticipated community event for parents and caregivers alike.

Vendor registration begins April 15th.

Pre-Schoolers in the Park
Wednesday, May 20, 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Tots Town Playground

Join us for a morning of learning, movement, and outdoor fun at Preschoolers in the Park! In partnership with the Public Library, this special program invites preschool-aged children and their caregivers to enjoy the park through stories, songs, and nature exploration.

Little ones will delight in interactive song time and engaging story readings led by library staff, followed by a gentle, guided nature hike through the park. This experience encourages early literacy, curiosity, and a love for the outdoors in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

Perfect for preschoolers and their families, Preschoolers in the Park is a wonderful way to connect, learn, and play together in nature.

Senior Fun Day

Memorial Day Celebration

Monday, May 25, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Memorial Day Parade hosted by Boardman Kiwanis Club at Boardman Center Intermediate School on Market Street and  proceeded north to US Route 224, then head east to Boardman Township Park. Cheering crowds line the route.

Following the parade, the Memorial Day Service will be held at the Maag Outdoor Theatre. We invite all veterans and community members to join us as we recognize, remember and express our thankfulness for the sacrifices of our military forces to preserve our way of life.
